Beading sites tend to size beads in millimeters, because most bead producing countries use the metric system. Beads are often purchased online or beading stores in 50g, 100g, 0.50kg or 1kg amounts. If you are unsure how much this actually is, then you need to change it to a system that you use.

You can purchase rulers or beading boards that have both mm and inches calibrations, but it can be quite easy to use these conversion charts to do the work for you!

Never try to use two different types of measurements in the one pattern. It can be quite confusing to use a pattern that is in inches AND mm. Pick one and convert all values to that system using these conversion charts.

Often rounding can produce slight inaccuracies. Make sure you take your conversions to the nearest decimal place. When you use that number again, make sure to use the original unrounded amount.
